The year 2022 is coming to an end in a less than a week (or might have come to an end by the time you see this article). What have you being able to achieve all year long? I’ll bet in December 2021, you had big plans for the new year, 2022. I know I personally did… Sailing into 2022 after businesses were starting to catch up from the Covid lockdowns and all, we looked at the new year with lots of promise.
A lot happened this year for me I was able to double my business income compared to previous years and this tim
e with lesser customers. While on the personal side my biggest achievements was getting married to my beautiful baby.
If you want to make 2023 spectacular and productive here are 3 things you should do;
1. Take Retrospect of This Year
Take stock of all that has happened for you this year. Take note of the good, the bad and the ugly. Block out at least an hour for this activity. Entertain no distractions. Switch off your phone and think, rummage through the past 12 months and what has happened there in. Note down what you did right, what went wrong for you and the lessons there-in. Examine your year.
“An unexamined life is not worth living” – A saint.
2. Make plans for next year
Look towards 2023 and make a plan. There’s a saying that he who doesn’t have a plan, has already planned to fail. You need to have a plan as to how you are going to achieve the goals you want to achieve for 2023. Plans for gaining more customers, losing weight or giving more to charity or even learning how to drive.
In your plans for the year make space for contingencies or setbacks. Those are important in order for you not to be demotivated. What will you do to move forward if your plans fail? Put that in your plans.

3. Join a goalsetting group or Mastermind group.
Joining a goal setting group or mastermind will help you to get in touch with people who can help you achieve some of the goals you have set and help with your plans too. This should form part of your plans for next year. A mastermind can simply be classified as a group of friends with the same goals. You can bounce off ideas from among yourselves on how to reach your goals and get some of the support you need for your goals.
Socrates once asked a simple old man what he was most thankful for. The man replied, “That being such as I am, I have had the best friends I have had.”
You need new friends to help push you towards your goals.
There’s more but focus on these small measures. I assure you that if you do these three things you would adequately be prepared for whatever 2023 brings your way. Here’s wishing all my Subscribers, clients and readers a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
